Prices are lower than those of competing programs because price is not padded with prepayment for support. There are no monthly or annual support fees, optional or otherwise. (Competitors claim to have 'optional annual fees' but force payment by denying service and/or withholding software updates.) Payment for support is only made when support is provided. (more)

No and most people don't want to be responsible for making the decision to place their clients' information online on a server that they know nothing about. Moreover, web-based software is a new software 'gimmick' that provides a high endless monthly stream of income to the software provider. BCSS installs on your computer and does not require dependency upon the Internet for reliability and data security. (more)

You own the software for lifetime use. Your copy of the software can be if you close your business and reopen it sometime later. Your copy cannot be sold, transferred, lent or otherwise given to another. (more)

Over 3,000 shops have purchased Best Consignment Shop Software since 2002. Policies and fees related to service are also important considerations. Some vendors have switched from saying 'free software updates with paid annual support' (which means no support and no free updates if the annual fee isn't paid) to 'Our annual support fee is optional' (without explaining the consequences of NOT paying the annual fee, which are 1) no support in any form and 2) no free software updates). Our 'annual support fees' are nonexistent so there are no word games to be played. In considering software, you should also ask if training is included in the annual fee. In most cases it is not and is $100/hour more. If training is included, ask about time limitations. One vendor in Miami boasts of ‘firing’ his customers when they ask too many questions, and requires repurchase of his software at full price. (more)

Unlike most software vendors, BCSS provides free support of the software, daily improving the software and keeping it current with changes in technology – all at no additional cost to users who enjoy ‘free software updates’. You do not have to “pay extra” for support of the SOFTWARE. In contrast, competing vendors offer ‘free software updates’ with payment of their annual support fee. BCSS does not have ‘annual support fees’ so the practice of holding ‘software updates’ hostage to force payment of service fees just doesn’t exist.
Your questions deserves a rigorous response because the advantages of choosing BCSS over competing programs have saved shops at least $3,000,000 (three million dollars) in unnecessary costs since the program’s inception in 2002:
1. BCSS is priced hundreds of dollars less than other programs because the price has not been padded with prepayment of ‘support fees’ – either for the software or for help at the shop (with issues related to Windows, computers, networks, viruses, training, etc).
2. There are no monthly or annual support fees so if help is never needed, there’s never an add-on for ‘support’.
3. As an extension of our ‘fair and reasonable policies’, a live demo is included with purchase as well as several training videos.
4. Also, unlike other programs, ownership of the purchased copy of the software is passed to the purchaser, allowing for the resale of the copy to recover a good bit of the initial cost.
In addition to support of the software, BCSS can support Windows, networking, computers, system maintenance and optimization, viruses, reparations of issues caused by faulty equipment and user errors, administrative tasks…). These services are in addition to support of the software. BCSS can be called upon for assistance (via chat, remote access, phone, chat) and when called upon to provide such additional services, fees apply, generally at half the rate of local computer-repair services.
In summary, the BCSS approach to providing support to shop owners is as generous and fair as can be.

The huge advantage is lowest cost. The initials prices are lowered because prices are not padded with prepayment for support. The ongoing cost of using the program is zero because there are no forced prepayments for 'support'. BCSS is a one-time payment for lifetime use. Payment is made for 'help' at the time help is rendered so if help is never needed, there are no ongoing costs. Rates for help are half that of local IT services.
