What was the best part about using Xero?
Many users who have tried different applications find Xero’s UI to be highly superior than any other accounting software, and the fact that it allows you to create customizable reports means that you aren’t restricted to the rails of the software.
Xero’s real-time data is extremely helpful for those who want to stay updated on their cash-flow situation, and the free software updates at log-in mean you don’t have to pay for additional support. There are, however, a host of available add-ons that can be applied to Xero should you see fit. For someone who doesn’t keep regular 9-to-5 work hours, the ability to get things done at any time of the day or night is a huge advantage for him. It’s also a great productivity boost for teams who don’t need to be in the office and on-the-go business owners. With apps like Xero, one can check the business accounts with the click of a button, rather going into work for an update. Then one can follow up with a phone call or email if I need more info, or video call into WIPs to keep across what’s going on. A user level of access can be limited to certain features like an employee from Purchase department don’t need to visit cash management / financial statements so his access is limited to only purchase related matters.
What would you change about your experience with Xero?
Xero is not a perfect piece of software. Some users report that the bank feed can be slow at times, which can become a pain when you’re in a rush. Setting up the application itself can be time-consuming as well. Worst part of Xero is the support from the development. Support is slow and unhelpful. That one can’t get the answer of his query in time. There are no help guides are available for Xero accounting. If a person is using another accounting application like QuickBooks or any customized application, it’s very hard for him to move to Xero. Because of different user interface and a complex system one can face some difficulties in using the system. Xero is very robust, so if you don't need full accounting, this may be too much for you not enough payment option integrations No portal customization for customers Dashboard is busy A lot of settings for those who don't wish to do much.
While Xero provides adept basic accounting tools, most other types of business support services have to be added using a compatible add-on. To make this a complete business solution, you'll have to add quote creation and time-tracking tools
Overall Feedback
It is one the good software for small and medium sized companies. Because they don’t have a very large amount of data to handle so Xero is good choice for them. First time user can face some problems while using this but it can be trained well in very short amount of time. Trainer just has to present the features working so that a user may know his job well.
Xero easily manages basic accounting tasks. It supports unlimited users, processes payroll and allows up to 100GB of file storage. It also can support multiple currencies and tax rates. However, if you need job or time tracking, you will have to seek out additional technology
